A 21-year-old male driver was killed Thursday evening when the car he was driving veered off the Route 309 overpass, became airborne and landed on the eastbound lanes of Interstate 78 in Upper Saucon Township, authorities said.
The Lehigh County Coroner’s Office identified the driver as Edwin Noel of Allentown. Noel was taken to Lehigh Valley Hospital-Cedar Crest in Salisbury Township, where he was pronounced dead at 1:13 a.m. Friday. Noel died from multiple blunt force injuries due to the crash and the death was ruled accidental by Lehigh County Coroner Daniel A. Buglio.
