Outdoor burning paused across Marion and four other counties due to wildfire risk

OCALA, FL (352today.com) – The Florida Forest Service’s Waccasassa Forestry Center announced it will not issue outdoor burn authorizations today, Friday, April 11, 2025, for Alachua, Gilchrist, Levy, Marion, and Putnam counties.

Officials say the weather isn’t safe for burning today. It’s been dry for several days, the air is also very dry, and strong winds could cause fires to spread quickly and unpredictably.
