Man faces up to 19 years in prison for 2021 shooting on Bruce Street in Winston-Salem

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. (WGHP) — The suspect in a 2021 shooting on Bruce Street was sentenced Friday after pleading guilty to second-degree murder, according to Forsyth County court documents.

On June 11, 2021, the Winston-Salem Police Department responded to a shooting in the 1500 block of Bruce Street and found 22-year-old Tristen Gadberry suffering from a gunshot wound. He died from his injuries.

An investigation revealed that on the day of the shooting, Gadberry was standing among a group of friends when the driver of a passing gray Jeep stopped his car, opened the door and fired multiple shots at the group when Gadberry was fatally shot…
