Spartanburg man sentenced to 15 years for Myrtle Beach shooting injuring police officer

MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. (WPDE) — A Spartanburg County man has been sentenced to 15 years in prison for his involvement in a shooting that injured a Myrtle Beach police officer during a 2023 incident.

London Staggs, 19, pleaded guilty Thursday to charges of first-degree assault and battery and discharging a firearm into an occupied vehicle, according to the Fifteenth Circuit Solicitor’s Office.

Staggs received a 15-year sentence—10 years for the assault charge and 5 years for the firearms charge. The sentences will run consecutively…
