RI’s waitlist for Early Intervention sees big drop

EAST PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) — Rhode Island has finally decreased its long waitlist for infants and toddlers who need early intervention after state leaders put more money into the system.

Boston Globe Rhode Island reporter Steph Machado joined Kim Kalunian on 12 News at 4 to discuss how the federally mandated program, which is run by the state at no cost to families, was struggling for years.
