You had to figure this would happen sooner or later. The days of actual human beings delivering food to your doorstep will eventually come to a close. According to Restaurant Dive, that time is getting closer as soon nearly 600 businesses will begin offering robot delivery starting in Chicago, Illinois.

The press release from Door Dash says that “Not every delivery needs a 2-ton car just to deliver two chicken sandwiches”. It will be a case-by-case basis that will decide if the food delivery needs to come via a person or if the little Coco robot will get the job.
The Restaurant Dive report says that the delivery has already begun in Chicago, but it might be awhile before you see it personally depending on what you order and from where. The report says over 100,000 successful food deliveries have already been made, so the future is now…
