$1.2M project brings tiny homes for unhoused families to Madera

MADERA COUNTY, Calif. ( KSEE/KGPE ) – A new million-dollar project aimed at addressing homelessness in Madera County is set to open Monday, and there will be a ribbon-cutting ceremony.

6 tiny homes to be built in Madera Rescue Mission rehousing center

The ceremony will celebrate the launch of a six-unit tiny home community at Madera Rescue Mission’s new triage center. Each unit is 576 sq. ft and will include two bedrooms, a bathroom, kitchen and a seating area.

The project is a partnership between Madera County and the Madera Rescue Mission. Officials say the initiative goes beyond just providing shelter.
