A Leesburg woman was arrested on drug charges after trying to hide fentanyl in her pocket during a traffic stop.
An officer observed a blue Ford Crown Victoria without working headlights headed west on Industrial Street around 8:18 p.m. Wednesday, April 2, according to an arrest report from the Leesburg Police Department. He subsequently stopped the vehicle at 1400 Industrial St., explaining the reason for the stop to the driver and backseat passenger, identified as 44-year-old Heather Shavon Graham.
While the officer worked on a traffic stop warning, a K-9 unit arrived on scene and sniffed around the outside of the vehicle. The K-9 positively alerted to the odor of narcotics coming from inside the vehicle. The officer finished the written warning, and a search of the vehicle began, the report said.
An officer asked Graham to step out of the vehicle, and he noticed she was trying to hide a clear plastic bag with white powder in her right front pant pocket. He instructed her to stop reaching into her pocket, but she did not comply, the report said…
