Two men from New Orleans are now facing serious charges after a grand jury indictment over a bank robbery and stolen vehicle. Kailus James, 29, and Cedric May, 31, could land in prison for up to 20 and 25 years, respectively, for their alleged crimes. The U.S. Attorney’s Office of the Eastern District of Louisiana handed down the indictment last Friday, outlining conspiracy to commit bank robbery, bank robbery in action, and possession of a stolen vehicle as the charges they’re up against.
The indictment relays that on March 15, James and May are accused of taking a significant cash haul from a JP Morgan Chase Bank in New Orleans, totaling about $98,320. On top of potential lengthy prison terms, both men may also be looking at fines up to $250,000 and supervised release. They’ve additionally been hit with a $100 special assessment fee for each of the three counts they are charged with. “The indictment is merely a charge and that the guilt of the defendant must be proven beyond a reasonable doubt,” Acting U.S. Attorney Michael M.
