Bondi appoints new interim U.S. Attorney for San Diego, Imperial counties

SAN DIEGO (FOX 5/KUSI) — The Southern District of California has a new U.S attorney after Attorney General Pam Bondi appointed a longtime San Diego prosecutor to take over the role as the region’s top federal law enforcement official following Tara McGrath’s termination.

Adam Gordon, who has worked as an assistant U.S. Attorney since 2019, will be assuming the position in an interim capacity, replacing the current acting U.S. Attorney Andrew Haden. He was sworn in Friday, a spokesperson for the office confirmed to FOX 5/KUSI.

Gordon’s appointment means he will be able to serve in the role for a maximum of 120 days or until President Donald Trump nominates — and the Senate confirms — someone for the position. After 120 days, federal district judges would appoint an interim U.S. attorney under federal law…
