DC’s 20th anniversary Emancipation Day Parade and Concert kicks off Sunday

WASHINGTON — Mayor Muriel Bowser is set to host the 20th Anniversary Emancipation Day Parade and Concert, celebrating the historic day with a day of festivities Sunday.

The festivities include a parade, concert, and fireworks display, all taking place at Freedom Plaza.

The Emancipation Day Parade starts at 2 p.m. on Pennsylvania Avenue between 10th and 14th streets NW. After the parade, the Emancipation Day Concert starts at 4 p.m. at Freedom Plaza, featuring performances by local artists and concluding in a fireworks display at 8:30 p.m…
