Caesars Indiana employees strike over failed contract negotiations

LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Casino employees in southern Indiana will head to the picket line after a strike was called following failed contract negotiations.

According to the Teamsters Local 89, a bargaining committee gave Caesars Southern Indiana and their Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians a noon deadline on Saturday to agree to a contract.

A strike was called after Caesars and the EBCI failed to respond. The Teamsters called the non-response a “lack of care and respect for the workers who make them the most profitable casino in the state.”…
