LA VERGNE, Tenn. (WKRN) — An officer’s observation of a suspicious vehicle in La Vergne earlier this week reportedly led to a police chase, as well as an escape attempt at the hospital.
The La Vergne Police Department said the officer noticed the suspicious vehicle parked outside of a closed business on Tuesday, April 8. In addition, when speaking with the person inside the vehicle, the officer spotted several open alcoholic containers in plain view.
According to officials, after the officer told the individual he wasn’t free to leave, the person fled in his vehicle, starting a brief pursuit. The individual reportedly collided with a parked car and ran off, but thanks to the officer’s rapid response, he was taken into custody.
