CENTRE COUNTY, Pa (WJAC) —State College police say they have arrested a 20-year-old man, Braeden Phillips of Milroy, PA, in connection with a plot to carry out a mass attack at State College Area High School later this month.
Phillips, a former State College resident, was taken into custody after law enforcement received a tip from a concerned citizen. Following an investigation involving the State College Area School District, the Centre County District Attorney’s Office, Pennsylvania State Police, and the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, authorities determined the threat was credible.
According to police, Phillips had conspired with another individual to execute a coordinated attack on April 21, 2025, during a high-traffic transitional period at the school. The plan allegedly involved firearms and incendiary explosive devices positioned in school restrooms.
