WHITLEY CO., Ind. (WANE) – A man drowned after a boat capsized at Goose Lake in Whitley County Sunday afternoon.
According to Indiana Department of Natural Resources District 2 public information officer, Gannery Htoo, the incident was first called in around 2:45 p.m.
60-year-old Daniel Watson of Grant County and a male friend were fishing on a boat on Goose Lake. According to Htoo, Watson had thrown out a fishing lure and was attempting to retrieve a bobber when the boat capsized, throwing both men into the water. Watson’s friend pulled him to shore and found a bystander to call for help.
Local Whitley County Police and EMS services were first to the scene and attempted to provide life-saving measures to Watson but were unsuccessful…
