Price Is Right Contestant Celebrates Car Win with Enthusiasm and a Catchphrase

A recent episode of The Price Is Right saw contestant Celida experience a whirlwind of emotions, from overwhelmed to ecstatic, after winning a new Mazda CX-30. Playing the game “That’s Too Much,” Celida relied on audience guidance to navigate the pricing puzzle. The game requires contestants to stop the increasing price reveal when they believe it has surpassed the actual retail price of the car.

Starting at $25,226, Celida repeatedly told host Drew Carey, “More,” after each price reveal, heeding the audience’s advice. The tension mounted as the numbers climbed – $26,448, $27,712, $29,084 – with the audience becoming a chorus of conflicting suggestions. Celida held her nerve, continuing until the price reached $31,712, at which point she declared, “That’s too much!”

Model Amber Lancaster then revealed the car’s actual price: $31,450. Celida had won!

Her reaction was pure jubilation. Screaming, jumping, and hugging Drew, she raced towards the car, even momentarily climbing onto the interior before settling into the driver’s seat.

In her excitement, she yelled, “Come on down! Come on down!”—the show’s iconic catchphrase—gesturing for audience members to join her celebration.

While family and friends typically join contestants on stage after the Showcase Showdown at the end of the show, Celida’s spontaneous invitation added a humorous touch to her already memorable win. Her enthusiasm and unconventional celebration certainly made for entertaining television.

The “Come on down!” phrase, first popularized by announcer Johnny Olson in 1976, continues to be a hallmark of the show, carried on by successive announcers and enthusiastic contestants like Celida.
