GRPD investigating 2 separate shootings

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — Grand Rapids police are investigating two separate shootings that took place Sunday, leaving two people injured.

The first shooting happened in the 900 block of Bates Street SE around 4:30 p.m. Officers responded to reports of gunfire but found no victims at the scene. Later, a 15-year-old boy arrived at a hospital with a gunshot wound to the leg. His injuries are believed to be non-life-threatening, according to police.

A second shooting was reported around 6:45 p.m. in the 2900 block of Batchawana Street SE. Responding officers found a man injured at the scene. He was taken to a hospital and is in critical condition, police say…
