Rock band receives guitar-shaped key to NY hometown ahead of Syracuse concert

A rock band has been recognized in their New York hometown ahead of their upcoming tour.

Coheed and Cambria received the key to the village of Nyack, N.Y., during the SpringFest Street Fair, according to Blabbermouth. The group performed a short acoustic set on Sunday, which was dubbed “Coheed and Cambria Day” by Nyack’s mayor Joe Rand and Nyack chamber of commerce trustee Tristan Dunnigan.

Coheed and Cambria singer and primary songwriter Claudio Sanchez graduated from Nyack High School and started the band at a weekly youth event sponsored by the Nyack Center where he met drummer Josh Eppard from Kingston, N.Y. Sanchez and guitarist Travis Stever both own homes in Nyack, located in Rockland County about 15 miles outside of New York City…
