A few days after Christmas, muddy stormwater from a nearby construction site flowed around a berm and onto the properties of Blue Valley Mobile Home Park residents.
The water flowed into the Southeast Boise mobile home park, located off of S. Eisenman Rd. near Micron, from the nearby construction site of a 1.2-million square-foot industrial park with seven buildings from Texas-based Lincoln Property Company. The project is on the parcel directly south of Blue Valley. The nearest building is 120 feet from the property line of residents living on Blue Sage Lane, with a 50-foot landscape buffer and parking lot in between.
On December 27, the City of Boise sent a notice to Lincoln Property Company, the LLC that owns the 44-acre site linked to Lincoln Property Company and its contractor, McAlvain Construction Inc. The letter informed the companies that they violated city code by allowing stormwater from the construction site to flood into Blue Valley. The notice said the berm, which was under construction at the time, failed both on the northwest and the northeast ends, allowing polluted stormwater to flow into the neighborhood and onto property directly nearby.
