Overnight closures of I-5 and I-84 near Portland start April 20

PORTLAND, Ore. — Sections of Interstate 5 and Interstate 84 near the Marquam Bridge will be fully closed overnight for five nights starting Sunday, April 20, as part of the Oregon Department of Transportation (ODOT)’s biennial bridge inspections.

The closures will run nightly from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. through the morning of Thursday, April 24, and include lane closures leading up to the work zones. Drivers are advised to watch for warning signs and detours.

Two major closures will be in place:

  • I-5 southbound between I-405 and the Marquam Bridge. Detour: Exit 302B to I-405.
  • I-5 northbound ramp to eastbound I-84. Detour: Use I-5 southbound to I-405 northbound.
