Severe Thunderstorm Watch: 5 Million at Risk for Tornadoes Monday Night in Ohio Valley

Charleston, WV – A Severe Thunderstorm Watch is in effect for much of the Ohio Valley, including parts of West Virginia, Kentucky, and Ohio, until 11:00 PM EDT Monday, April 14, 2025. More than five million residents are at risk, with the potential for tornadoes, large hail, and gusty winds up to 70 mph.

According to the National Weather Service, the watch covers regions such as Huntington, Parkersburg, Beckley, and London. These areas are under heightened threat as thunderstorms develop, bringing the possibility of tornadoes and hail up to two inches in diameter.

Weather officials warn that severe gusts could disrupt power and cause flying debris. Travel disruptions are likely, especially on major highways like I-75 and I-64, as strong winds may topple trees and cause road hazards…
