A legendary soul and R&B singer and a seven-time Grammy award winner will return to a downtown Wilmington venue in the summer.
Gladys Knight will be returning back to the Port City . Knight performed for a sold-out concert in Wilmington in 2016 and returned to the Wilson Center in July 2018.

Knight will be performing on Saturday, June 28 at 7:30 p.m. at the Wilson Center at Cape Fear Community College, located at 703 N. Third St.

Who is Gladys Knight?
The 80-year-old Knight grew up in Georgia singing in church and rose to fame in the 1960s as the lead singer of Gladys Knight & The Pips, lending her rich, emotive vocals to such indelible tunes as “Neither One of Us (Wants to Be the First to Say Goodbye),” and, perhaps most famously, 1973’s “Midnight Train to Georgia.”
