Traffic was blocked on east 17th Street Sunday for Open Streets ICT. Wichita Mayor Lily Wu tells KNSS News Open Streets offers people the opportunity to walk, jog, ride a bike or scooter, and “really connect with the community.” Wu says the next Open Streets ICT will be in May in the Nomar neighborhood, blocking off west 21st street.
At Tuesday’s meeting, the Wichita City Council will consider giving $40 thousand to Wichita Festivals Inc. for a cash sponsorship and in-kind services for this year’s River Festival. Wu reminds everyone that River Festival buttons may be purchased this week at a reduced rate, $15. This year’s River Festival runs from May 30th to June7th.
