‘Tragedy strikes’: St. Pete police say 13-year-old was shot, killed by friend recording video

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. (WFLA) — An investigation revealed a 13-year-old boy died after a 14-year-old shot him while recording a video, according to the St. Petersburg Police Department.

Around 11 p.m. on April 12, a 14-year-old boy was sitting in a vehicle on 11th Street South with the victim, Jaden Hill.

“He was shot inside the car at close range,” said Assistant Police Chief Michael Kovacev. “After the shot, he fell out of the vehicle.”

The 14-year-old suspect pointed the gun at Hill while he recorded him on a cell phone, he then fired the handgun, shooting Hill, police said…
