A teacher who brought a gun to an East Toledo charter school on Monday no longer works for the school, school officials said.
Students at L. Hollingworth school were told to shelter in place briefly Monday morning, as police retrieved a handgun from a teacher’s desk, police said.
Police were called to the school, at 653 Miami St., at 10 a.m. after a student reported a teacher had a firearm at the school. School officials removed the 55-year-old teacher and her students from their classroom and found a firearm in the woman’s purse in her desk drawer…
