NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) – Court documents obtained by Fox 8 reveal that a New Orleans police officer witnessed 25-year-old Christopher Parker fire into a crowd Sunday (April 13) night near Iberville and Decatur, just minutes after the final acts of French Quarter Festival ended.
The shooting, which happened around 8:25 p.m., injured five people and sent crowds scrambling for safety in a packed French Quarter.
NOPD says officers were already in the area for crowd control when the gunfire erupted. One officer reportedly observed Parker shoot into the crowd and then tuck the firearm into his pants. A brief chase followed, and Parker was arrested near Canal and Decatur streets…
