Parents Say Aylor Middle School Ignored Bullying, Downplayed Assault That Left Son with Facial Paralysis

Stephens City, Virginia — The parents of a 13-year-old student at Robert E. Aylor Middle School say school officials failed to act after their son was violently assaulted in school earlier this month, leaving him with facial paralysis and ongoing trauma.

They also say the incident followed months of unchecked bullying, and that the school minimized both the attack and the racist verbal abuse that preceded it.

“This wasn’t just a fight — this was hate,” said Deise Ellston, whose son, Enzo, was diagnosed with Bell’s palsy after the April 8 incident. “They let it happen, and now they’re treating him like he’s the one at fault.”…
