Ex-zoo employee pleads to multiple charges after allegedly taking photos up guests skirts

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — A former seasonal employee at the John Ball Zoo pleaded guilty to multiple charges Tuesday following accusations that he was taking photos up guests’ skirts at the zoo, including a child’s.

Steven Pook was initially charged with one count of child sexually abusive activity, two counts of capturing/distributing an image of an unclothed person and three counts of using a computer to commit a crime.

Pook ultimately pled guilty at a status conference to three counts of capturing images of an unclothed person, all of which are five-year felonies, and one count of using a computer to commit a crime, a seven-year felony. The judge told Pook that he would cap his jailtime at six months…
