Indiana Senate passes bill to begin expansion into Illinois counties

HENDERSON ,Ky. (WEHT) – The Indiana Senate approved a bill that would begin the process of making the state larger, by incorporating part of Illinois.

The bill creates the Indiana-Illinois Boundary Adjustment Commission, which will look into incorporating 33 counties in Illinois that voted to leave the Prairie State. The commission will include six members appointed by Governor Braun and five members appointed under Illinois law. The commission would discuss and recommend whether it is advisable to adjust the boundaries between the two states.
