Court docs: Man confessed to ‘knowledge’ of raping child in Franklin

FRANKLIN, Ind. — An Indianapolis man allegedly told a woman he was “attracted to children.” But this disturbing admission wasn’t the worst of his confessions.

Joseph “Joey” Moore, 22, is accused of raping and molesting a child for nine years.

According to court documents, Moore spoke to Johnson County Sheriff’s Department detectives in early April. He told the detective he had “knowledge” of raping the victim but couldn’t recall the “memory” of it.

The sexual assault allegedly occurred at a home in Franklin. The victim told investigators the rape and molestation had occurred for nine years.

The victim recalled some of the traumatic assaults during a police interview. When police asked Moore about these specific allegations, he again said he “knew” about the incidents but had no “memory.” Moore did tell investigators that the victim had no reason to lie or make up the allegations against him…
