Border Crash Kills Two Service Members

SANTA TERESA, N.M. – Two service members assigned to Joint Task Force Southern Border died and a third was seriously injured in a vehicle accident here Tuesday, according to U.S. Northern Command (NORTHCOM).

The accident occurred shortly before 9 a.m. These are the first reported fatalities connected to the military’s border mission.

Officials say the cause of the accident is currently under investigation. More than 10,000 active-duty service members are currently deployed to the southern border.
