Upstate woman accused of selling alcohol without a permit

PICKENS COUNTY, S.C. (WSPA) – An Upstate woman was arrested Friday for allegedly selling alcoholic beverages without a permit.

The South Carolina Law Enforcement Division (SLED) charged 51-year-old Ebony Patrice Clayborne, of Greenville, with unlawful storage or possession of alcoholic liquors in a place of business, unlawful sale of alcoholic liquors and failure to secure a required beer or wine sale permit.

An investigation was initiated on April 11 at a business in Pickens County. According to the arrest warrants, Clayborne reportedly sold an alcoholic beverage to an undercover SLED agent at a time when the business operations were open to the public…
