Marion man claims he was wrongfully arrested by police chief during flood, shares bodycam video

MARION, Ark. (WMC) – A man in Marion was charged with disorderly conduct after a heated encounter with the city’s police chief, who was blocking the roads while floodwaters were rising rapidly. That man now says he was wrongfully arrested and will fight for his case in court.

Robert Mettler says he was driving home from visiting family on Saturday, April 5, as flooding began to cover the streets.

“It comes to a point where the water is over my hood and I’m just looking for a way to get out,” says Mettler. “I can see it’s flooded behind me, but in front of me is the way out, but it’s blocked.”…
