EL CENTRO, California — A suspect linked to multiple thefts in El Centro and San Diego County was apprehended following a high-speed chase on Interstate 8, according to the El Centro Police Department. The suspect, who also had an active felony warrant from Riverside County, was taken into custody after officers deployed spike strips with assistance from the United States Border Patrol.The pursuit began when dayshift patrol officers attempted to stop the suspect’s vehicle, which failed to yield, leading to a chase towards San Diego.
