LINCOLN–(KFOR Apr. 16)–Someone that fled from a traffic stop in the Railyard District and a vandalism in the Belmont area are part of this week’s Crime Stoppers report from Lincoln Police.
In the first case from Apr. 3 around 8pm, an officer on patrol near Canopy and “Q” streets saw two people riding a dirt bike and a four-wheeler through the Haymarket. LPD forensics technician Becky Keller said the officer turned on the overhead lights on the cruiser and tried to stop them but they took off.
Keller said the driver of the ATV had small child on their lap around 3 to 5-years-old.
This past Sunday, Apr. 6, about 2:30pm, Lincoln Police were called to the Family Dollar near 11th and Cornhusker, where someone came into the store and asked an employee for help in finding items. The woman that came into the store then ran towards the front of the store after not finding the items and “wreaked havoc” before she left.
Keller said as the woman yelled at everyone, she allegedly threw shopping baskets at other customers and employees, then opened a bag of powdered detergent behind the counter and threw it everywhere. The woman threw candy bars and other items all over the store…
