WICHITA, Kan. (KWCH) – It is a milder morning across Kansas with wake-up temperatures in the 40s along with a few sprinkles. Later today underneath clearing skies, highs will reach the upper 70s and lower 80s, or ten degrees above average for middle April.
A weather boundary will sweep across the state this evening, bringing a few storms to central and eastern Kansas. While most areas will stay dry, any storm that forms will be capable of producing small hail and gusty wind, mainly between 6 p.m. and midnight.
The heat is on Thursday as we climb into the 90s (in Wichita) for the first time since last October. If we make it to 92 degrees, it will tie the record high from 2006. The hot temps will be accompanied by high winds and fire weather concerns…
