WICHITA, Kan. (KWCH) – A Wichita woman was indicted for defrauding a federal program aimed at helping people who lost their livelihoods during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Kylie Charles, 35, was charged with 17 counts of wire fraud and 17 counts of aggravated identity theft. The Department of Justice said she illegally collected more than $100,000.
The CARES act provided financial relief to Americans dealing with economic hardships of the pandemic.
