PennDOT: EV drivers to now pay road use tax under new Pennsylvania law

PennDOT officials announced this week that the agency recently began requiring electric vehicle drivers to pay a new road use tax, under a newly enacted Pennsylvania law.

Act 85 was signed into law by Gov. Shapiro last year and charges EV and plug-in hybrid drivers a yearly fee that helps support road and bridge maintenance in the state.
