Residents of 12 apartments displaced after fire in northeast Columbia

COLUMBIA, S.C. — Crews with the Columbia-Richland Fire Department responded to an apartment complex fire in northeast Columbia on Wednesday afternoon.

Firefighters were dispatched to Providence Park Apartments on Business Park Boulevard shortly after 12:50 p.m. Upon their arrival, firefighters said they found fire spreading through one side of the building, which prompted a 2nd alarm call.

Officials with the fire department say multiple aerials were used to knock the fire down and it was ultimately brought under control and extinguished…
