Murfreesboro, TN – Rutherford County’s first female County Clerk Georgia Ann Rion Lynch passed away Monday, April 14, 2025, at Alive Hospice. Visitation will be from noon to 3:00PM this Saturday (4/19/2025) at Jennings & Ayers Funeral Home, and the celebration of Georgia’s life will be at 3:00PM.
In 2002, after more than 30 years of dedicated service in the Rutherford County Clerk’s office, Georgia Lynch announced her retirement, stepping down from the post she has held for the past seven years.
Lynch’s career began as Chief Deputy County Clerk, a position she held for 27 years before making history as Rutherford County’s first female County Clerk.
