Lineworker describes joys, challenges of maintaining the grid

With two of the fastest-growing municipalities in North Carolina, northeastern Wake County requires constant attention from electrical lineworkers to meet the expanding demands for electric service.

Working on that local front, and also responding as needed to emergencies such as hurricanes, tornadoes and winter storms, is Drew Carter, a Duke Energy lineworker with nearly two decades of experience.
