A pedestrian walking along railroad tracks near downtown Riverside Wednesday was struck by a train, suffering extensive injuries and prompting a temporary closure of the rail line.
The “pedestrian down” call was received at about 11:15 a.m. Wednesday along the Burlington Northern Santa Fe tracks that cross the intersection of East La Cadena Drive and Kansas Avenue, beneath the 60/91/215 interchange, according to the Riverside Fire Department.
