As we head into Easter weekend, the forecast is giving us more questions than answers. both the GFS and ECMWF, which are two of many models we use to gauge incoming storm systems, are hinting at the storm potential. However, they are not quite on the same page when it comes to timing or intensity.
Saturday looks warm and muggy, with temps well into the 80s and dewpoints climbing into the mid to upper 60s. That’s plenty of fuel for storms if a trigger arrives. Some isolated activity could fire as early as Saturday afternoon in eastern Oklahoma and western Arkansas, especially where temps spike and wind fields tighten up.
By Sunday evening, things get more interesting. The Euro suggests a more organized line of storms sweeping through, possibly overnight into early Monday. The GFS, on the other hand, shows a weaker setup with more scattered rain and limited instability.
Bottom lime: It’s not a washout, but you will want to keep an eye out updates, especially into Sunday night. Stay tuned to the Arkansas Storm Team and download the Arkansas Storm Team weather app for more updates as we get closer…
