District 4 officers arrived at the 1300 block of North 13th at about 5:25 a.m., after reports of shots fired in the vicinity, their findings indicated the woman had sustained a gunshot wound to her arm while she was reportedly socializing around a firepit, as reported by the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department.
Witness statements, both from the victim and others present, described a sudden outbreak of gunfire that resulted in the woman’s injury; they heard gunshots then almost immediately, the woman felt a sharp pain in her arm indicating a bullet had found her amidst the chaos of what should have been a calm gathering.
