SPRINGFIELD, Mo. — The Missouri Sports Hall of Fame inducted nine candidates at its 11th annual women’s luncheon on April 15.
Hundreds gathered at the Oasis Convention Center as the class of 2025 was welcomed. Those honored included Dr. Sue Rollins, a pioneer of women’s athletics at Drury and the 1984 Central High School girls basketball team, which was the first Springfield school to capture a state title.
“Never really thought of myself as belonging in that group so it means a lot to me, but more importantly, those kids I had, they deserve this. They truly deserve this,” head coach Susan Alley said. “They deserved it a long time ago, but I’m glad this day has come and it’s just fantastic and almost all of them are going to be here, which does my heart good. So it’s a great day for Central.”…
