Colorado Weather Alert: Heavy Snowfall to Hit Rockies by Friday Morning Through Saturday Night

Pueblo, CO – A strong spring storm is forecast to bring significantly cooler and unsettled weather to Colorado’s Rocky Mountains starting early Friday and continuing through Saturday night, with heavy, wet snow likely to impact travel and outdoor plans.

According to the National Weather Service Pueblo, CO office, snowfall accumulations could exceed 6 inches in the central and southern mountain regions, including areas around Monarch Pass, the Sangre de Cristo Mountains, and parts of the San Juans. The highest elevations may see even greater totals, especially where terrain enhances snowfall rates.

The probability of at least 2 inches of snow in a 24-hour period rises above 80% in many mountain zones, while the chance of 6 inches or more reaches similar levels in higher elevations.
