Eugene police make arrest connected to March shooting murder

EUGENE, Ore. – Eugene police have made an arrest that they say is connected to a shooting murder that occurred in early March.

On April 16, Eugene Police Department announced that their violent crimes unit had arrested Levi Rosenthal Eva, 18, earlier that day. Police said their investigators had connected Eva to an incident on March 3 near east 23rd Avenue and Willamette Street where a shooting occurred and Bryon Jivan Fitzgerald, 24, was taken to a nearby hospital, but later died of their injuries. Police said Eva was arrested for the murder of Fitzgerald, and was charged with first- and second-degree murder, first-degree assault, first-degree robbery, and unlawful use of a weapon…
