Drug trafficking ring from Mexico to Idaho busted, 11 convictions secured

BOISE, Idaho (CBS2) — Justin Whatcott, acting attorney for the U.S. District of Idaho, flanked by members of the Organized Crime and Drug Enforcement Task Force, announced Wednesday that 11 convictions have been secured in a massive drug trafficking conspiracy.

The task force tracked drugs that were sourced from Mexico and trafficked into Arizona before being shipped to Idaho for distribution. According to court records, beginning in early 2023, Idaho State Police (ISP) detectives received a tip that Austin Lee was distributing large quantities of fentanyl in southern Idaho.
