New rules for the lone public access point to Oswego Lake — mandated by a recent court ruling — are in effect.
The city of Lake Oswego posted the new rules on its website and City Manager Martha Bennett discussed them at a City Council meeting Tuesday, April 15.
While the city’s previous rules that went into effect in 2012 outlawed access to the lake from its three adjacent park properties, the new rules allow for swimmers and people with watercraft that are 18 feet or less in length to enter the lake solely from the steps at Millennium Plaza Park.
