Man arrested over firearms in Ewa Beach barricade

EWA BEACH, Hawaii (Island News) – Honolulu police arrested a man in Ewa Beach after he refused to turn over his guns which led to a brief barricade incident on Wednesday morning.

The 49-year-old suspect was arrested at 11:30 a.m. on April 16 for not handing over his firearms. The guns were ordered to be obtained by a judge and court issued restraining order.

The incident caused a closure on Kaileolea Drive between Kaiee Street and Kapolei Parkway due to the investigation. The roads reopened at 12:12 p.m…
